This is the Upper Lumsdale Falls in the Peak District and the whole set of waterfalls make a nice set of cascading falls in the woodland of the picturesque Bentley Brook in the Lumsdale valley near Matlock. The area is the site of former mills and the ruins of the buildings and watermill fittings make for an interesting visit and a reminder of our industrial heritage.
I managed to fall into the stream here and discovered the hard way that rocks and foreheads don't mix. One trip to A&E later and all was well. I returned a week later to photograph the falls properly.
